Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER and Administration of the Sacraments and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, according to the Use of the Church of Ireland, together with the Psalter or Psalms of David. A new Version of the Psalms in the rear. It was published in 1778 in Dublin by the executors of David Hay, Assignee of the late Boulter Grierson. At the rear there is A New Version of the Psalms etc which is almost complete - the final five lines of Psalm 150 are missing and the final page of Table is missing the bottom third. Original Cambridge binding in full leather. 4 gilt raised bands, a maroon leather title block and gilt lettering to the spine. A few chips to the leather but boards firm and in very good condition. Pencil notes to the front endpaper. Foxing to title page and some pages have repairs to their torn edges and there is loss to the text on a few pages in the bottom corner. Fairly clean throughout. New version of Psalms at the back has a large stain to the top half of the pages and part of the last page (alphabetical table shewing where to find each Psalm) is missing and has been repaired with plain paper.
