Description: Description of this item: The glossy reprinted photo is a bit grainy, but the autograph is real and NOT a reprint at all. It was signed on October 26, 2008, at my sports cards and collectibles show in Rochester, NY. I am the promoter and will send a COA (certificate of authenticity) with tons of information on it from the autograph session with Mr. Barend. This is a very tough autograph. Barend wrestling through FOUR decades from the 1940's - 1970's. He won the US title twice in 1966 and again in '67. He won the North American title TWICE beating Pedro Morales in 1969 and again in '71. He held multiple titles in Hawaii throughout his career where he was even married right in the ring. He retired as the North American Champ in 1972. He was known also as "Handsome Johnny Barend." I may have more than one of these from the same signing session. I may not have changed this picture from the last sale. Your signed item will have the same color marker and it will be in the same general location on the photo.
