Bob Haring (1896-1975) was an American popular music band leader of the 1920s and early 1930s. His recordings with Bob Haring and His Orchestra were very most popular in terms of sales. He directed the house band for Cameo Records from 1922 to 1928. during this period he recorded hundreds of titles with some of the top jazz musicians of the period. Some of the musicians that were included in the sessions were Red Nichols - Trumpet, Mike Mosiello - Trumpet, Andy Sannella – Clarinet, Alto Sax Most of the sections included in the Bob Haring and His Orchestra releases were recorded for Cameo Records. Cameo Records (Cameo Record Corporation, New York) was a budget-priced record label based in Manhattan. Cameo records were introduced in February 1922, selling for 50 cents each, and soon Cameo became one of the more popular budget labels. Cameo also owned the Lincoln Records and Romeo Records labels. Cameo was purchased by Pathé Records in 1928, which continued to use the brand until 1930. By April 1929, Haring had been appointed the musical director for the Brunswick recording laboratories in New York City "to supervise musical arrangements in connection with recording. Bob Haring continued to record for Brunswick Records until Warner Bros. took over the company in April 1930. The subsequent reorganization that took place led to the non-renewal of Haring's contract in March 1931. Haring then recorded for ARC (Banner, Oriole, Perfect, Romeo) through July, 1931. Haring continued to work in radio, however, until the introduction of swing music drastically changed the public's taste in music around 1935. ******************************************************* This CD presents recordings made at the peak of their recording career.
