Description: Hey Kids! Are you looking for a fun way to get into a fabulous Luxman SQ-38D amplifier cheap? Here is the project for you. This is as I found it. It will require a bunch of cleaning and polishing as well as a full service. The rear flange of the chassis has a dent that should be straightened out in the area of the speaker terminals. I'd recommend unsoldering the terminal strips to straighten this properly. You may want to upgrade the speaker terminals anyhow as they are pretty light weight for most of the Japanese amps of this period. This looks to be pretty much unmolested and nothing that jumped out at me in terms of being scary. Missing bottome cover (easy to have made) and no cabinet. Untested. This is missing the 6RA8 output tubes (available but not cheap) and one of the 12AX7 tubes. The 6RA8 is an interesting triode tube. I've never had one of these before but I bet they sound great. If I had the gumption, I would clean this up and re-cap it. But, I don't..... Please note that this is the 117 Volt version (the one for domestic USA)!!!!!! All of the other ones you see listed now for much higher prices are 100V. Which, is problematic for use in the USA. So, if you have ever been curious about these fine amplifiers, the party starts here. A great winter project for you. Tube line up: 12AU7 x 2, 12AX7 x 3, 6267 x 2, 6RA8 x 4 (again, 6RA8s and one 12AX7 are missing). All packed up securely for shipment (which will be pricey as the package is 35 pounds 25" x 19" x 11"). Untested, AS-IS
