Description: In this listing we are offering a loose photo of an unidentified man with a beard who was probably a Samuel W. Woodhouse relative. The photo would have originally been made to attach to a cdv. But, the photo is loose with no mount. The back of the photo is penciled "Sept. 27, 1876" & there is also a penciled number of the negative. The photo is circa 1870's & measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 3/8 inches. There are wrinkles, tears, chips, & a piece ready to become detached from the edge. This photo & a selection of other photos were discovered in a personal photo album that had belonged to Samuel W. Woodhouse, the noted naturalist, surgeon and explorer who took part in the Sitgreaves and other expeditions. A number of the cdv photos in the album were of various well known people as well as of Woodhouse relatives and others whom we were unable to identify. All listings of cdvs from the Woodhouse album have the name Woodhouse in the listing titles. The reference number for this item is #5022.
