Description: 3 soup or serving spoons. The spoons are free from damage but have normal use and wear marks. One spoon bird has red eyes, the other 2 have white eyes. The silver plate is starting to tarnish. This wonderful group was made in Jezzine, South Lebanon by Said and Alfred Haddad. Each bird handle is hand carved from Buffalo cones (horns) and camel bone. The wings are brass and the red and blue dots are inlaid stone. Although many sellers say the bird is a phoenix, my sources indicate that the bird is said to be a Hud Hud Hoopoe that was native to Jezzine before it was hunted to extinction. Mark on one spoon looks like F SO T. Each spoon measures about 9" long and 1 1/2" wide at the bowl.
