They were meticulously cleaned and threaded usually on wallaby sinew. This one is treaded on old string. Highly prized they were a good trade item. These shells were only found in the cold southern seas of Australia. Although old , the shells display an amazing iridescent glow of colours from green through to blue and purple. Necklace is 63 cms
