After having two purchased copies signed, I pulled out the ARC, which I had obtained a month before the book's release in anticipation of this very event. I approached Phil and asked if he would sign it for me. Despite the publicist’s objections, Phil graciously agreed, and he signed the ARC. This led to a momentary halt in the event, as the frustrated publicist announced to the crowd that no other memorabilia was allowed and asked that it be removed from the store immediately. This signed ARC remains a unique and memorable piece, capturing the authenticity and generosity of Phil Lesh.
