Description: To maximize the chances your package will arrive before Christmas, please order BEFORE November 24Tennessee Interstate 69 route marker. Up for sale today is this Tennessee Interstate 69 route sign. Made to the exact 1957 standard from the origins of the Eisenhower interstate highway system. This design was supplanted by the modern shield style—often with the state name omitted! —in 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states. Interstate 69 is a highway being constructed from border to border across the United States. In the south, it will end in Victoria, Texas, where it will split into three parts leading to at the Rio Grande. In the north, it ends at the St. Clair River in Port Huron, Michigan, across from Sarnia, Ontario. The portion of highway from Evansville, Indiana northward is complete and open to traffic, while various disparate sections of the road in the South, including in Tennessee, have been completed. Eventually the plan is to build connecting sections between all of them to make one long road, but when or if this will ever actually happen is anyone's guess. This sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 2 lb. 15 oz., and is 12 by 12 inches. It is a non-reflective sign—perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors. (If you would like a different size version, please ask as I can certainly make one!) This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Please do see my other auctions for quality Tennessee US and state route markers! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. "Life doesn't happen along the interstates. It's against the law." —Charles Kuralt Figure about 2 lb. 15 oz. for shipping, packed carefully and mailed from zip code 61833. Our signs are only printed when you buy them.
