Description: This is a Vintage Framed Signed 19" x 16 3/4" Watercolor Landscape by E. R. Thompson.At the time of the original listing, we are in the process of listing a number of paintings, prints, and other art work collected over the last 15 years. These include an eclectic mix of antique and vintage pieces in a variety of styles. We also have quite a number of antique and vintage art listings in our ebay store including paintings, prints, and sculptures.The only information I was able to find was another watercolor by this artist offered on ebay. There was no closeup of the signature, but on close inspection it can be seen to be the same signature. That listing offered the attribution of E. R. Thompson as New Mexico artist, and the watercolor was attributed as having been painted in the 1990s. Another point of comparison I found was that the rendering of the desert foliage in the foreground of that painting was very similar to that seen in this piece.The watercolor is very nicely done with sparse desert foliage surround with mostly implied white sands. The limed oak frame and double matting complement the piece very nicely.The frame is 19" x 16 3/4" with a 9 1/2" x 6 3/8" opening in the inner matte. The frame and mattes are also in excellent condition. There are some water stains or similar on the paper dust cover on the back that appear to be likely related to the original installation of the dust cover.
