Description: Remington Peters Brass Shotgun Shell ButtonsHand Crafted In USA Circa 1970New Old Stock Shirt Button Set of 14 Brass Very nice unused button set consists of (14) - .410 Ga buttons. This is enough to do a hunting shirt, dress shirt or flannel giving enough for front, double button cuffs and flap pockets.These are crafted from actual shells that were test fired at Remington and are NOT the repro stamped "express" buttons. These are actual shells with a pressed in primer. We purchased a quantity of these years ago from the son of a man who produced these in a home workshop in the early 1970's and wholesaled them to Abercrombie and Fitch, who sold them in their NY City Store. He shipped them in bulk to another company that packaged them for sale. The son told us his Dad drove and picked up 55 gallon drums of spent shells directly from Remington that were test fired at the factory. He brought them home, took them apart and crimped a brass washer into the back with a hand press he designed himself. Buttons have a ring shank on the back. The son said when he was a kid in the 1970's he used to sit for hours in front of the crimp press during the summer helping his dad fill orders. I personally think these are real works of art that would make a real statement added to a hunting or sports shirt.You will receive the set pictured or an identical set in color and condition that may have slight variances in the soldered backs or subtle differences in color shade.Your button set will be shipped in a recycled plastic case as seen in last photo. I can almost guarantee you will not find these buttons as a shirt set for sale anyplace but from us.
