Just cut your post to length, set inside and use the set screw to mount in place. This floor flange is made of malleable galvanized cast steel and is rust-resistant. In my other listing , I sell a small pole adapter pipe that fits into the flange and will allow a pipe to screw on. The flange must be secured using anchor bolts or stakes for hardened ground (not included).
